Kyudo Beginner Lessons
For anyone who has wanted to try kyudo but never had the chance to begin.
Learn Japanese archery from the ground up in the quiet grounds of Daihōon-ji (Senbon Shakadō) temple in Kyoto, in a small-group setting.
At a typical kyudo class, beginners spend a long time on the basics — rubber bows and draw practice — before ever shooting a real arrow.
In these lessons, you'll hold a real bow and arrow from the very first session and learn by actually facing the target.
About the Instructor
The teacher holds the rank of Kyoshi, 6th dan, with 65 years of experience in kyudo.
Since opening a kyudo class in 2009, he has taught over 6,000 people.
He guides you by taking both of your hands, so you pick up the feel quickly, and his clear, approachable teaching has been well received by students of all ages.
